Correct Use of Summit Intelligent Charger in Winter

Every winter, electric cars and tricycles are obviously not far away, but through testing, the results show that the electric cars are all right, there is no problem. Why is that? Electric cars don't drive far. Is it really related to the cold weather?

When the temperature is about 25 C, the lead-acid batteries can normally store and discharge as much as possible. When the temperature drops below 10 C, the storage capacity of the lead-acid batteries will decrease by 20%. When the temperature is below 0 C, the storage capacity will be reduced by 30% or more. Therefore, even the newly purchased electric vehicles, some winter will also have poor endurance problems. In addition, there are consumers'bad charging habits. Here are four tips about battery charging in winter, and listen and remember!

1. Can't recharge when the electricity is used up. Unlike other batteries, lead-acid batteries have no memory effect, so no matter what state of charge the battery is, it can be charged directly without discharging. Some early users of electric vehicles thought that it was better to recharge the batteries after they had basically finished using them. This view is wrong. Frequent discharge of electricity has a greater impact on battery life. If not in winter, it is better to charge the battery twice a month to ensure the storage capacity of lead-acid batteries.

2. Charging environment should not be too cold or hot. The optimum ambient temperature for charging is 25 C. At present, most chargers do not have an automatic control system adapting to the ambient temperature, so most chargers are designed according to the ambient temperature of 25 degrees, so charging at 25 degrees is better. When charging, it is better to arrange the battery and charger in a ventilated and temperature-adjusted environment.

Special reminder is that when the battery is in the northern winter, when it enters the warm room in the outdoor low temperature state, the surface of the battery will appear frost condensation. In order to avoid leakage caused by frost condensation, the battery should be charged after the temperature rises to close to the indoor temperature and dries. It is recommended that the battery be charged after entering the room for 30 minutes.

3. Develop some good habits of saving electricity. On the premise of ensuring safety, braking and starting should be minimized in order to save electricity. In the following slopes, make the best use of pre-emptive power reduction sliding deceleration. When going up the hill, especially when driving at low speed, the current should not be too high. Before going out, it is necessary to check the fittings are good, such as rain and snow, water can not submerge the motor, so as to prolong the life of batteries and motors.

4. Maintain the battery and don't use the charger indiscriminately. Misuse of different types of chargers may lead to leakage, fever, smoke, fire or explosion of batteries. When the battery deforms and bulges, it should stop charging immediately.

At present, most batteries of electric vehicles use lead-acid batteries. The range of batteries is closely related to the outdoor temperature. The decrease of batteries'power in winter is normal. But if you master the above charging tips, you can minimize the range of your electric car!
